TAVARES - For 25 years. Maj. Tommy Mysinger put on a furnish each day and served the citizens of Lake County on Friday that chapter in his life came to a close. Mysinger retired Friday celebrating his career with family friends and colleagues at the Lake Technical bear on initiate of Public Safety. It was a day of smiles and tears for many close to Mysinger - and for Mysinger himself."It's all these things mixed together," he said. "It's all those emotions."There were many notables in the displace including go Judges T. Michael Johnson and Larry Semento; Sen. Carey Baker. R-Eustis several Lake County police chiefs and former Sheriff Noel Griffin who hired Mysinger in Sept. 1982.
Looking around at the large crowd. Griffin smiled and said. "I didn't experience I hired such an important fella. I'm proud to be a move of his life."Nearly all of Mysinger's life has been spent in Lake County. Born in Eustis he went to Umatilla schools then off to the Army and college at the University of Tennessee. After graduating from college he came back to Lake County to become a deputy."The biggest experiences I've had is with all of you populate who undergo touched my life," Mysinger said. During his service he ran nearly every unit of the department at one time or another. At the measure of his retirement he supervised LCSO's Mounted Posse and the Hazardous Devices team. He was also a founding member of LCSO's SWAT team."He was ground-breaking for the county," said Capt. Cecil Garrett a colleague and self-described friend of Mysinger's. Sheriff Gary Borders has worked with Mysinger since he came to LCSO 18 years ago."Thank you for everything you've done for this county and this community," Borders said. Mysinger was a head before retiring but was promoted major at his retirement. Mysinger's wife. Christie a sergeant at LCSO was there to celebrate along with the bring together's 4-year-old daughter Katie. Katie said she was proud of her daddy and looking forward to him being home more."We can go to the park and compete," Katie said. Christie Mysinger had tears in her eyes as she listened to people communicate about her preserve."Today is a very proud day for our family,' she said. "To look approve and see the accomplishments my preserve made brings a smile to my approach and a disunite to my eye."
